Holidaying in Scotland

Scotland as a holiday choice flashes up a myriad of ideas about interesting things to do and see, historical sites, golf, walking to name but a few – but it should be mentioned that Scotland can actually offer a fantastic beach holiday too.  Visiting Scotland requires a freedom and it is therefore great to explore the outlying coastline from a holiday cottage base, as this type of accommodation allows guests to throw away time constraints and explore the regions at their own pace. When planning a holiday in Scotland there are lots of alternatives for accommodation, but there really is nothing like a holiday cottage from which to explore and investigate Scotland’s beautiful landscapes and historical past.  It is impossible not to get hooked on the intriguing history of Scotland, with its tales of local heroes, horrendous massacres and the bravery of the highlanders during the brutal English Highland Clearances.  (more…)
